Default IS350 brakes ...

I just switched over to IS350 brakes and I have a quick question for you guys, is it normal for them to produce so much brake dust??

I mean is it common with OEM pads, if so what aftermarket pads produce less??

thanks

There's the TSIB for it. Dealership can install the low-dust brake pads.

Just curious, also, when you bring it to the dealer, do they get confused that you have 350 brakes on a 250? Just curious haha

The dealership most likely will not be able to carry out the DTB for the brake pads since your original VIN# doesn't show the same caliper/brake pad size as the ones you have now. So just buy some OEM replacements off sewell for $50+shipping..they're CHEAP.

Right there, funny cause the IS250 brake pads cost more than the IS350 ones

here is a few pics ... i went ahead and polished them and i had to make my own bracket to make them fit on the SC ... (and i've already been bashed for the brackets being "ghetto", but hell they work like a charm!)

I'm looking for another set of IS350 calipers and rotors ... if any one has a set they want to get rid of PM me ... I have another SC that I want to put them on

How did you polish them?
They look super shiny!

its very time consuming ... each one took about 2 days ...

i started with a hand sander and some 80 grit sandpaper ...
then i switched to a 150 grit ...
then to a 300 grit ...
then by hand i used a 1500 grit ...
and to finish it off i used a polishing wheel ...

i would recommend taking them to a shop though... there's places that charge like $70 per caliper ... unless you have the time and patience ...

its not difficult ... it just takes too long

if you buy EBC pads, make sure you buy green stuff. Don't buy red stuff. I had red stuff for 5,000 miles and it totally messed up my rotors...now I have to buy new rotors thanks to these pads...or maybe go with Hawk .
