Default D2 coilover or H&R coilover?

hi guys,
my friend is looking for coilover and he has 2 sets in mind, which is the D2 RS coilover and H&R street preformance coilover.(not much choice from his car)
i was wondering which one are better? and are these 2 reliable?
please help, i and my friend are new to coilover, will anyone please help?

Does your friend have a 2nd gen IS? Because if so, H&R street performance coilovers are not an option. They don't make them for the 2nd gen IS.

i have a question, i really don't know how does it work, if i want to have a comfort ride( softer) than is the handleing and cornering going to be as great as the harder one?
