Go to Autozone, and have everything tested for free- charging system, battery, alternator...all under 1 roof, best part is it's free...Do that today without any delay. I'm not sure if you put in the terminals or someone else did...but whoever did it needs to recheck that...the connection needs to be completely tight.

P.S. Do not take it to the Dealer...you will be out $135 bucks, and that will get you nowhere. Hope this helps and update us with the progress.

had this problem 2 months ago. it's a bad alternator.

GS400s have a problem where the power steering leaks onto the alternator and kills it drip by drip. If that's the case, you need to fix the leak and get a new alternator. I wouldn't buy one from Lexus though.

fixed alternator.

aluminum block + steel bolt + midwest salt = broken bolt with half of the bolt in the block and me ending up having to tow the GS to a shop

So far no electrical issues yet.

Last edited by kit cat; 11-21-09 at 08:25 AM. Reason: the shop I took it to put a std bolt for another job I had them do. do not recommend.

So far no electrical issues yet.
