Hydraulic Suspension vs Air Suspension

Hydraulic Suspension vs Air Suspension
We'll I'm looking to get one of the either. Air suspension definitely seems like the "classy" way to go, but it is also a lot more expensive.
I would have never thought about getting a hydraulic suspension because all that comes to mind is "low rider" status. All bouncing around and crap. But I ran into a vip styled mercedez and the hydraulics seemed like a practical application. The owners name was brandon, im not sure if he ever comes to these forums.
Stole this off the website www.hydroholics.net, his car:
Basically what i see as an advantage and what brandon brought to my attention:
The kit is around $1600.
The kit consist of way less components to install, less chance of something going wrong.
You dont have to worry about bag wear.
You can set it to a drive height and drive on it, unlike from what I have read about airbags where your not supposed to drive inflated? correct me if i'm wrong.
It's easier to find leaks.
Cons:
I don't think their are digital switches, only manual.
It seems too quick, I prefer the gradual lift of air over the quick hydraulic bump.
People will laugh at you when they hear you have hydraulics in your GS.
possible con, is having to renew oil every 6 months, but that doesnt seem that bad.
Please contribute your thoughts!
I might just go ahead and try them out, and upgrade to a air runner kit in the long run.

If setup correctly, you'll have a decent ride with hydros, you'll also set yourself apart from us air guys. Cons: batteries in the trunk, leaks in the lines and bouncy bouncy bouncy if not setup correctly.

yeah im just worried about it being bouncy.
I saw the setup in brandons car, at first i thought it was a air setup. Everything was so flush.

i'm not all that familiar with hydros but i been around them a lot, my pops and older brother have always been into low riders and they've had a few set ups. I've seen some good set ups with hydros and some ****ty ones. it all really depends on the quality of the setup/install, but in my opinion air is the way to go. especially on a luxury car. Just my two cents

Im not sure how many batteries yet. I'm still enw to this, hence why im asking for opinions. Looking at the UAS kit its pretty reasonably priced. I am just honestly scred to death of bag wear/tear and bas popping.

big 16 wheelers are equipped with "airride"...if you're scared of popping, don't drive next to those things...they may POP!! kidding...they won't. With Airide and Hydros, its all in the installation. Leaks in my airrunner setup? nope. Lowriders were the first thing I was into before I learned to drive. I've been in ghetto setups that leak and bounce and I've been in really nice setup rides. Depends on the installers...don't go by where people in magazines are getting their stuff done. Lots of those shops are hacks. Have them take you for a ride in the car with hydros that they've done. Same thing with air. go for a ride. BTW, my airuuner has no rubbing issues. Its UAS that you have to make sure it doesn't rub.

Hello,
As co-owner of hydroholics.net I can tell you that hydraulics have a bad rap which is not true about them. Leaks - if you use a bench vise and tighten your fittings snug with teflon seal tape and have the correct industrial tolerance fittings, you will not leak. Fires - you see the lowrider guys have this issue because they run 8-12 batteries or more for hopping. Our vehicles can run 2-3 batteries fine with no issues. Ride - hydraulic accumulators are airbags inside a vessel, so you are essentially riding on air, just using the hydraulic fluid to lift.
I love air runner, it's a great system, yet hydraulics are around half the price.
I am a Lexus owner and will be installing my setup shortly.
