Default Brembo OE Rotors-Don't use them

Just finished installing Brembo OE rotors front and rear. Fronts seem ok. Rears however scrape on brake drum "shield". The channel in between the rotor part and the drum part is not deep enough. I had to grind down the channel with a dremel, grind some of the lip that sticks out a little on the drum shield. Got it down to where only under extreme cornering does it scrape just a touch. Never say never, but will never use Brembo.

Sorry to hear that. Did you make sure that you got the right rotors? I know that the Supra rotors are bigger and require some trimming for the dust shield.

You should have measure the size of the rotors before slapping them on. Occasionally, the parts guy would tend to give wrong part. GL

If it is the same issue as in the link below it's a fairly well known and I do not believe it is isolated to Brembo rotors.

Hey! That's it! Upon inspection of the Lexus OEM rotor, that channel in the pics is deeper than the aftermarket rotor. All I have to say is "why?" "why?" Are Lexus parts that good, or aftermarket that bad?

I had that issue as well except much worse since my rotors barely had a groove in them at all. The company found a couple in their stock that were defective like that, he offered to replace them but I just ground the lip off until it quit rubbing. I'd just put my wheels on and didn't want to ride around with stock rotors while I waited! Did that about a year ago with no problems so take the dremel or a grinding bit to that lip and problem solved.
