Default 350Z Brembo Brakes

Just Curious, would these fit on an SC and if so has anyone tried it? Guy down the street got a HUGE brake kit for his Z. Had the brembo's on before.

I'm sure it can be done with some brackets and all...but kind of pointless when a TT conversion will be more economical and will probably be just as good if not better

It all depends on how much he wants for them. If I can buy em for LS400 brake swap money it could be worth it. I'm mostly curious about how difficult it would be.

Supra TT brakes are a better option, as the SUPRA JZA80 chassis is identical to the 1SC and it is proven to work. The 350Z brakes are modified specifically for the 350Z so if you put these brakes on your SC, you'll probably have brake bias. Your car will not brake balanced.

Also, it seems that brembo do not sell their brackets so if you want to make your on bracket to fit, it will be diffcult, not to mention dangerous. I would think that you'll probably need a 350z master cylinder also.

If you are goign to do this swap, you'll have a lot of work ahead of you.

Good luck.

buy the kit, send it to me, ill make it work, then PM you and let you know how difficult it is.

you dont know unless you do it or find someone that has already done it.

have you looked into the pad and rotor selection for the 350z brembo brakes? i say look at that first. supra tt brakes have a huge selection.

also figure out what size the pistons in the calipers are and figure out what the brake bias will be. it will definitely change. for the worse. basically if you dont do anything with the rears you can will become a front-brake-only car.

I will see how much he wants. I figured 350Z brakes would have huge aftermarket support.

As for Brake bias, I will definately have to look into that since, to my understanding, for optimum braking in a straight line, you don't want too much front bias. However if you are braking mid corner, big front bias is much more controllable, right?

On the master cylinder: why would I need to swap it out? Forgive me, I'm not too knowledgable on brakes. Is the brake bias controlled by the master cylinder?

Some info I could find on the 350Z Brembos (only the fronts). I'll edit and add more as I find info

4 Caliper Pistons

Rotors:
2pc 12.76 x 1.18 in

So we have 2 more pistons and another inch of brake rotor to help essentially the same size as the Supra brakes. Not sure on piston diamater though.

If I need a new master cylinder then there goes any financial reason for doing the swap. I will just buy Supra brakes later on.

I bought a LS430 ST40 Stoptech kit. I have to buy the Supra brackets & the rotor hats & hardware. Thats gonna run me $880. I would think that you would have to do the same. I dont see why Brembo cant get the parts to you. Just say the car was in a wreak & you need replacement parts. Not like there gonna be cheep.

The 350z/G35 OEM Brembos are fantastic but probably not worth the labor to convert them over. The Brembos bracket is cast 1 piece for the Z spindle so you would need to make a plate to adapt it.

Pad selection is nearly unlimited. Everything from motorsport spec Raybestos/Portfields/Carbontech to street stuff like Hawks/EBC

Compared to the Supra OEM kit? I would easily pick the Brembos.

However there are better options. Used OEM Brembos for the Z usually run in the $1250-$1500 dollar range depending on condition(I have seen beat-to-***** ones that need rebuilds go for as low as $1000). Better off picking up a used Stoptech front kit made for this car.

you also will most likely to have a center hub ring made.Maybe use 350Z track rotors.

I would just go with something bolt on because it's safer/e-zer/less money

Seems the TT wins out in the end. Has any member come up with a better solution?

i know driftmotion makes a kit to convert the z32 brakes onto a mkIII supra, their setup might tell you what you need to start

OMG. Here it the thing. Brembo/Stoptech. All there caliper's are the SAME, except for some applications where the piston size is different. Its the brackets & the rotor hats that make them fit the car. So for everbody above that dont know what they are talking about & just ASSUMING its this. Look eather spend the money on buying the rotor hats & brackets or not. Which meens LESS weight & rotating MASS. Cause the Brembo's & Stoptech's are made out of aluminum. & the 2pcs rotors which are light too. Or buy you some HEAVY, Supra brakes, which I just got rid of, caues I road race my SC & they dont do the JOB with EBC Yellow Stuff pads. NOT saying I had the BEST pads out there. But the pretty damn good & the car is 3600lbs. If you really drive the car. You will find out soon enough, weather you waisted you money or not. Good Luck!!!! You talking to Noah about the flood.
