Default Shocks: F-Sport vs. Tokico

These are the only two aftermarket shocks for our cars without going with coilovers. I know I'll probably be flamed for this, but for me personally, I'd rathe go with just springs and shocks, I don't need the adjustability. If I know I have the option I'll keep adjusting it everyday and I'll go crazy.

But yeah, I'm not sure if anyone has gone with Tokico's yet, but what has been your experience? Is the ~$100 you save from going with Tokico's over F-Sport worth it? I am planning on getting F-Sport shocks 3-4 years down the road or so.

Which do I want, Bilstein or Tokico? Hmmm. That would take me less than a second to decide. The extra $100 will be long forgotten while the F-Sport shocks will be working their magic for years to come.

That's what I figured. Thanks for the fast reply and for confirming this!
Are the Bilstein shocks rebuildable?

Most are, but it's hard to say with these.

Default floaty

I have the f sport shocks on tein s-tech. they are very floaty feeling. I would not recommend them to anyone. I cannot speak for the Tokico however.

I'm still using my stock (Tokiko) sport suspension shocks with my Eibach 350 springs. Let's see how long they last.

Did you install the s-techs first and then f-sports later on? That's weird that it is still floaty.

Yeah I was talking about the Tokico Blue. I am trying to match a shock to the H&R Springs.

Sorry to bring this thread back again, but I think I'll need to replace my shocks by the end of the year. Between the two, Tokico HP and Bilstein (F-Sport), which will be a comfier ride? Honestly, as much as I do love the sportier handling, driving in LA, roads suckk. I think for the time being I'll like to find a shock that will handle the range of aftermarket springs, and still be a fairly smooth plush ride.

Tokico will soon be releasing Illumina Series adjustable shocks for the 2IS. Keep an eye out for them.

I just read over the 'lifespan of coilovers' thread and gotta say id rather have aftermarket shocks with aftermarket springs than coilovers. I really don't like the fact that you need to rebuld your coilovers after 25k miles, for the price of aftermarket shocks. I guess adjustability is key, but i'd rather get more life out of my suspension.

I would say in general, Bilstein > Tokico
