I experienced problems with bottoming out (rubbing) when hitting bumps with Tein CS installed. I sent coilovers to Tein and they found no problems. While driving with old stock setup, same problem exists - only on passenger side front (even with no passengers - no fat jokes please!). I do have 245/35/20s which are oversized (and proper offsets) so I expect some rubbing on hard turns/big bumps but not on relatively mild dips in road. Are there other suspension components that would contribute to this problem?
Thanks, Steve

It is rubbing the plastic liner But my concern is that whether I have Tein Coilover or stock strut/shock setup I have minimal damping / maximum bounce. That is true also when I've adjusted to stiffest setting with Teins. Driver side front performs just fine

I also have Tein CS (original version) and when I replaced my michelin ps2 with a/s mine rub in the same way on heavy dips. I figured it was the greater circumference of a new tire? I've had my CS's for 3 years I believe and never had any rubbing until changing tires 2 months ago.

Does your Tein CS have the bump stops? Only thing I can really think of, is if the piston is going all the way down on the passenger side and not rebounding, sounds like a blown shock, but you had tein check it. hmm with a bump stop, it will prevent the upper top mount from bottoming out.

this is a strange issue, if it does it with Teins and Stock on only one side then something doesnt seem right to me... have you had your alignment checked? that is all i can think of that perhaps one or more measurements of your alignment are out and this is causing the wheel to be i na slightly different position and thus more likely to rub.

I have the same issue, im lowered on DF210 + stock shocks, i look and look, i even put psgrs in car to see where it would rub, but i dont see it rubbing with liner, it just makes rubbing noise when im driving. i can hear it at lower speeds 25-45, at higher speeds i dont hear it. i dont even need to bottom out to hear it.

I adjusted damping to stiffest setting. gap is greater on passenger side but still rubs while no problems whatsoever on driver side
rubbing seems to be worse at rear wheel

replaced front bushings w/ daizen, tie rods and ball joints and still rubs when driving speed bumps and severe dips. Driver side at slightly lower height and same damping has NEVER rubbed. Passenger rear has similar problem with adult in back seat - but driver rear is tight as ever. What are the chances that both front and back passenger coilovers could've lost some damping resistance? Any ideas to troubleshoot?
