I guess thats one advantage of having black wheels is that brake dust shows much less. I use the paddles sometimes to avoid dust too

Brake pads are cheaper than engines/transmissions.

Plus, with the TSIB pads, no dust (or nearly none)

I also have black wheels with polished lips. With the old crappy front pads, the wheels would turn some brownish color in a few days. Now with the low dust front pads the wheels stay black for a couple of weeks. It's worth the trouble of getting the free low dust pads, after comparing the 2 sets. I had mine changed last month.

Did you have the new TSB which includes the 08 models (as referenced above)?

The TSIB doesn't list VINs. It clearly states it includes all 2008s.

Is this brake dust problem found in the older models only? I've owned my '09 IS for a while now and have never had this problem... should I expect the dust as the car gets older?

My IS 250 was build in late May 09 and the dust will cover the front wheels in 3 days of driving and looks specially nasty after a rainy day. I just whip them once a week...

My '09 has brake dust too. Gets dirty and black so fast.

Yup, 100% BS.

Many TSIBs -do- have VIN ranges on them because they only cover certain cars. The brake dust TSIB is not one of them...it covers entire years of cars.

Just be aware, you will have less braking performance if you swtich to a lower dust pad.
