Thumbs up Here's how the $5 hot paint worked on my calipers...

...and this was taken today, a good 6-9 months after applying the paint.

Let's see a pic of the $29 paint job!

I'm certain it will look better- but 5 times better?

I just took a close look, and it looks like I did mask them off, probably because they were silver anyway, so there was no need to paint them. Plus, it was not too hard to mask them off.

If your clips are shiny, I'd mask them off, too- they'd look great against the red. But with the paint I used, it wouldn't harm anything if I had painted the clips- the paint does not fully "cure" so it never hardened into a glue-like substance.

Good luck with your paint job!

yea i used engine paint too, mine are turquise.

They look great and it cost me a whole 5 dollars. Painted calipers are fly especially if you have some five spokes so when you go rolling by people can see the calipers shinning through

ShowGSLuVv, mask the brackets, here's a pic or two in Red, i've done this enough that I can get a mirror finish that lasts, but a set of Red Brembo F50 calipers would be muuuch more fun for you......

sypher, whenever you're ready. ShowGSLuVv, I didn't remove them on this one, but I spent a bunch of time sanding, prepping, and painting, about five or six coats per caliper, took forever, but a decent looking alternative for ppl until big brakes are fitted. The paint I use is good to 900deg F, engine paint is good to about 500deg F.

From a Rice point of view I hate red painted calipers (except when they are colour co-ordinated to the car which is more subtle), but my favourite caliper colour is black, nice shiny black like the finish on the Supra TT caliper or powder coated.

Hub centre's - Black again as they make the alloy wheel spokes more distinct.
