great suggestions for KW and BC racing coilovers, but they're priced past the $1k price point and simply overkill for what the OP needs/is looking for.

honestly, anything in the sub-$1k range will suffice for the OP's needs.

i'd make a brand recommendation, but seeing as to how i'll be crucified by fellow brand-loyal 2is owners if i do, i'll leave it up to others to make a recommendation of sub-$1k coilovers.

Megans or BCR would be the way to go on a "Budget".

i kinda skimmed through this and the only brands worth anything listed are KW and Tein.
KW's are great but cost $$$$ Tein's are also great..but why on earth would anyone consider the "basic" model. not worth it IMHO. you cant adjust preload and ride height independently.....if you want Tein get Flex.

Budget coils get Stance LX+, i have them, and absolutly LOVE them. ride if perfect just like factory just lower. (at setting 8)

I got an offer for JIC FLT-TAR with 25k miles on them for $750. He said it's the first one they used to develop it for the ISx50. This a good price?

^ they're probably due for a rebuild, but for used JIC's it's worth considering.

We haven't used a set on a customers car yet, so I can't weight in on driving feel or qaulity. But they come in at about the same price point as Megans.

Whats your budget? I got my Megans for $850 brand new. Full stiffness and still rides good.
