here's a quick feature comparison of the two:
according to megan racing's website:
http://www.meganracing.com/products/...=468&catid=125
what tanabe USA had to say about the sustec pro 5's:
http://www.tanabe-usa.com/five.asp?id=20
i'm sure there's a lot more than what i found, but it's nothing that's top secret.
my guess is the spring rate based on the above comparison, but i'm interested in finding out exactly where it says that the tanabe sustec pro 5's ride better than the megan racing LP coilovers.
according to megan racing's website:
http://www.meganracing.com/products/...=468&catid=125
- Spring Rates: 12kg Front and 8kg Rear
- 32 Levels of Adjustable Damper
- Pillow Ball Upper Mounts.
- Rubber Dust Covers.
- Adjustable Ride Height
- Aggressive Spring Rates
- Single-Cylinder Design
- Aluminum Brackets

I remember someone saying the Tanabe's don't go that low... perhaps I'm wrong.
I'll let you know this though, Megan doesn't offer rubber mounts. Only pillowball (metal) mounts. Your ride will be very noisey with Megan coilovers.
Not sure if Tanabe offers rubber mounts.
I DO KNOW however, that BC Racing offers Rubber mounts. They aren't that much more then Megan... and I think even less then Tanabe. You may want to consider them. I own em' and think they are good coilovers for the money.
Oh yeah, and you can drag your @ss on the ground if you want with BCR's they go so low...

i wouldn't say very noisy, but you will have more noticeable road noise since you won't have the rubber upper mounts to absorb vibrations from the road. that being said, the 2is does a pretty good job as far as isolating road noise - just don't expect it to be ultra-quiet.
both the sustec pro 5 and the LP coilovers are retailing for ~US$1K, but you can get them for much less from the CL vendors. i believe the BCR's are going for US$1K, which is a noticeable step up in the price bracket. however, everyone that has BCR's have given them rave reviews, and based on specs alone they appear to be worth every penny.

To be honest, I was thinking Megan Coils also. I heard few reviews where people hate it or love it. So its 50/50. I decided I'm going to save up for JICS. I love my JICS and have no problem so far.
Areukhmer is riding on BCr right now and I can say it ride really smooth. Also you can go really low too.
Before pulling the trigger, Ask CL vendors for price, and compare them.
If I didn't have my JICS. BCr is definitely on my list for COILS
