Hello,
I tried to remove my rear rotors on my SC300 but got stuck.![Frown](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
I went on CL and searched for some help and found a good thread, but it didn't clearly specify if I needed to remove the brass center 32mm bolt on the wheel hub.
I tried hammering it off with a rubber mallet, no go. I rear about screwing a 12MM (14?) bolt into one of the holes to push it out. I even tried using the factory jack against the shock to push the rotor off, still didn't work. I also had a neighbor come by with a 32mm socket and a large wrench but we couldn't get the bolt off.
So, my question is--does the 32mm bolt on the hub need to come off?

all you need to remove are the calipers, caliper bracket behind the rotor and you can use like a 12mm bolt to pull the rotors out or hammer (rubber mallet) it from the back.

no, do not touch that bolt at all. That is for the wheel bearing, dont touch that bolt unless you want the wheel bearing off. Tell your neighbor to go back home and put the 32 mm away.
Another suggestion: make sure the parking brake is not on when you're taking it off. The parking brake is located behind the rotor and uses the inside of the rotor hat as a drum. Make sure this is off when you are removing it. Im still surprised that the bolt removal method didn't work. It took me a while with a hammer, but i got mine off eventually.

Thanks for the input guys. I ended up taking the car to the shop and had them pull the rotors off. They just had to hammer, and hammer, and hammer....until chunks of rust came out and they became loose. I wouldn't have had the strength (literally) or the room to get enough momentum to knock them loose.
Next do I...sand/dremel/rebuild the calipers, or buy a new/used pair.....
