Default F sport Rear Sway Bar

Hey guys im about to purchase a rear Fsport sway from one of our fellow member here on CL. He has AWD and i have 08' RWD IS 350 i just wanna make sure that it will also fit on my car as well. Here the part number if it help PTR02-53080. Thanks !!!!

I believe the rear sway for the AWD will fit on ours with no problem. People buy it so they don't have to purchase the whole package. I would suggest getting the front too, because I heard from somewhere that it is going to make it uneven. I'm pretty sure other members could clear it up.

I have a IS 350 and only rear sway bar and everything is good. One might encounter a problem if they only upgraded the rear sway on a IS250 because the stock front sway on the 250 is not very stiff, hence the uneven comment. The stock front sway bar on the 350 is already fairly stiff, and buying the rear only is the best bang for the buck because it makes the rear something like 155% stiffer vs stock...the front is only about 6% stiffer with the upgrade.

^^^^Nope, your wrong. There is no difference between the stock sway bars used on the IS250 and IS350 RWD. Your are right, however that it is OK just to use that rear bar. It will make a world of difference in the handling of a 250 or 350 RWD IS.

^^ according to your PDF file it seem like the Fsport sway bar RWD and the Fsport Sway bar for the AWD is different from each other. My question is will the AWD rear sway fit on my RWD?

yes the rear sway bars are the same for RWD and AWD. i bought my rear sway bar from lexus of westminster brand new. i told kerry that i only wanted the rear sway bar because the front one isn't much stiffer, and he told me to just get the AWD set because it only comes w/ the rear one, and that i did which was alot cheaper and install was super ez and no problems.

so yes it will fit RWD and AWD rear sway bars = the same.

2009 sways are different.

i had no idea that the AWD and RWD f sport sways bar were different.
i thought that when u bought the AWD they gave you the same as the RWD one, but just not the front bar.

They changed the AWD set for 2009. Prior to that the rear bar was the same as the RWD set.

As has been stated above the F-Sport sway bar upgrade for the AWD changed earlier this year. Prior to the change the AWD set was just the rear bar and it was 19mm in diameter. With the new set (both front and rear) the front bar is 28.5mm and the rear is 17.5mm.

BTW, I've got the 19mm F-Sport bar on mt F, I sold my old 17mm bar to an IS350 owner and he loves it.

I bought the is-f sway, but i sold it before i put it on. i should have tried it out before i sold it again.

huh? in my post right above you i said the AWD and RWD f-sport sways are the same..... =\ and your thinking is correct. just doesn't apply to 2009

Let me know if I'm wrong, but from what I know the rear stock is 15mm and the f-sport is 19mm. If you keep the front and change the rear it'll cause understeer/oversteer (forgot which still confuse between them). Of course if you drive it aggressively you'll probably want to change front and rear, but if not I guess just the rear is fine. What I did before I change to full f-sport sway bar, was change the rear sway to an IS-F one. The IS-F is 17mm and will bring it to neutral.

On a note I switched to coil and f-sport sway bar set at the same time, but I don't seem to notice a difference. If you could wait and not in a hurry just get the whole set.
