23 can't be right.... i have 04 stock and the car sits 28' of the ground in the middle of the fender arch. that would mean you lowered it 5 inches

I assure you that's correct.. I made the mistake of not measuring the original height before I dropped the car. But I had assumed it was at least a 4" drop if not a little more.. So 5" is probally about right, as I mentioned in a earlier post I could easily put my whole fist between the tire and wheel well, now it tucks about 1" of tire..

The car looks lower in person than in the pics I think, I've gotten quite a few comments from people driving around town about how low it is, luckily I've had no real bottoming or scraping issues.

Maybe two or three times I've rubbed the front tire on the inner plastic fender well (that's what it sounded like), but it only happened when hitting a bump while turning at almost full lock going at a fair speed.

I think I'm seeing once I get rims even if they are 18's I'm gonna have to lift it back up a little. Not because of the height of the rims but because of the width they will likely be, 8.5" I guess?

Anyone know what these factory 16" rims width is? I'm assuming about 7" with the 215/60/16's that come stock.

Do you have problems with the front scraping while going up driveways?

Not so far, It seems that the nose of this car is so short and compact to the wheel, the wheel quickly begins to touch the rise then just drives over it.

I try to go at slight angles over stuff that is too steep, but am finding that it isn't really needed most times. Now if there was a small lip/valance on the front bumper that would probally get in the way on some stuff.

I really have had no real issues to speak of, it make me want to go another inch and see how bad it is

Nice.. Loving the GS dumped man! I just picked up my 2nd GS, first 300 though! I love the car and i'm thinking about getting the same coilovers. Let me know if you find a good camber kit. I don't want it that low - looking to go with 19x8.5 front and 19x9.5 rear but i want everything to alighn up just right! Car looking extra nice man - keep up the good work!

I would have to guess that as with most things quality is related to price. Not meaning something cheap isn't good, and something expensive is going to be better. But Tein has quite the reputation.

As this car is not my daily driver I was looking for affordable coilovers and had thought about the Tein SS, but purchased the megans after a bit of research for a couple specific reasons.

1- Lowest drop in the price range the 2"ish~ of the Tein's wouldn't cut it and 4"ish~ drop I achieved with the megans was more enticing.

2- most reviews here of people with the megans were positive

3- good price, as they seemed to be the highest quality of the 'cheap' (sub $1000) kits

I must say I am very happy with the megans, they ride way better then I ever expected. But I'm sure I am missing out on some comfort/handling as they probally don't stackup to $2000+ coilovers from other long time established companies.

I've read a few places they are re-branded Apexi springs. Is it true? Don't know. If so, is it a good thing? Don't know.

Thanks, I painted the grille the second day I had the car, while I was waiting for the coilovers to arrive I had to mod something in the meantime. I'm gonna tint the windows 20% in a few days, then they really will be quite similar.
What kind of paint did you use?

hm i cant see pics but when you get bigger rims it seems to get harder haha

when i slammed mine on stocks it looked slammed as, and didnt have any problems with UCA banging or turning or anything. but once i got my 19x9 / 19x10 on i had the guards rolled & it suddenly didnt seem low enough overall. so after lowering a bit more i started getting UCA banging and scrubbing sometimes (even though my front is pretty well sunken). Now ive ended up with harder springs and lower again and stil doesnt somehow seem quite as low as it did on stockers!!

i reckon if i put my stocks on again just to see i'd be just about on the deck lol

GL with it, i'm not sure you will like 18s on there because the inevitable drop in sidewall size will look odd and you will be unlikely to get low enough to fill the guard up properly...
