Hi everyone,

I recently aquired a 99 GS300 with 98k miles on it in excellent condition a few weeks ago. This was a 1 owner car, looks to be garaged and only used by a single person as the drivers seat and floor are the only places that show any use, and you might be able to notice in the pics that even the blue plastic protective covering on the stainless doorsills has never been removed after 10 years?! The door jambs and engine bay are imacculate with no grime.

I Immediatly looked for supporting forums to learn about the car. And CL seemed to be the most active.

Initially driving it was a definate luxury but it handled like a boat. Being on a budget and seeing mostly positive reviews of the megan coilovers around here I went ahead and ordered a set and installed them last week.

WOW. it's an entirely different car. I set it as low as possible and still get full lock-to-lock steering with no rubbing. The coilover install was so easy I would say anyone handy should be able perform the install alone without paying a shop to do it.

I'm running the shock dampers at 22 front and 18 rear at the moment after a little trial and error. It still rides super smooth like stock but eliminated alot of the floating feeling and some of the body roll. I can tell it still needs some upgraded sways and strut bars. After some searching here I will soon replace the balljoints, tierod ends, steering rack bushing, etc..

I wasn't sure how much I was gonna like this car, but after lowering it I have no regrets and am ready to move along with modding this out.

NA-T is my main goal once all the suspension is complete.

BTW this board seem great, and I hope to keep you guys updated as the project moves along over the winter.

Here's the only good pics I have for now that my buddy took when I went by his house after lowering it, and a couple phone pics of the coilovers:

Nice, how much of a drop is that? I have a set of Megans as well sitting in my closet waiting to be installed. First I need to get rid of this damn clunking/creaking noise that I am getting.

Your ride is absolutely sick! I have never seen an 11 year old car in that condition. It looks like its new inside and out. I just picked up a 2000 GS300 that I thought was in excellent condition. I feel sick. You truly found a one of a kind. Welcome. That is a great find..

Yeah, from the 2 weeks I've been reading on here it seems that everyone is in either Florida, Cali, or Texas.

Is there a thread or any info on the meet?

It's funny how the plain ol' stockers look so much better once you drop it!

I had initially wanted 19's, but I like ridin' low more than I like huge wheels so I'm starting to think going 18's to get a little more meat on the tire and still keep it slammed without turning problems. And to save some money to put in to going turbo.

If I go 19's I really like the axis hiro's. If I go 18's it will be some sort of silver flat/flush 5 spoke sporty wheel.

Now I wish I had measured the car before the drop, but once the Ups man drop that box, I turned around and jacked up the car to get those megans on!

I see you guys measuring 1 or 2 finger gaps, etc..

Considering I could easily put my fist between the tire and fender lip before the drop, and now it tucks a little over 1" of tire, I'd say around 4" at least.
