Default OEM springs or shocks?? giving out already?

I have a 2006 is350 with 53xxx miles and noticed something that alarmed me today. Whenever I get out of the car I hear a thud near the bottom of the car I never noticed this noise until today and no I don't weigh a ton either. I only weigh 165 pds... Everything suspension wise is oem so I have no what this could be. Any ideas?

I doubt your shocks or springs are going bad. If the shocks are worn then they won't dampen properly. Test it by pushing down on the corner of your car and see if it goes up and down a little bit before stopping (oscillates). If you feel like your car is leaning a lot into corners than maybe your springs have lost some tension. Most likely your bushings on your control arms are making the noise or maybe the ball joints when your car changes height slightly when you get out of the car. Either way, I seriously doubt it is a concern or causing a decrease in handling. In general, bushings and ball joints usually last for well over 100k miles or 10 years. Your suspension should last for well over 75k miles. Usually it's the wheel bearings that go first, which don't make noises unless you are moving.
