I'm planning on upgrading my brakes for next seasons during the winter.
I found a set of rebuilt front Supra Calipers for rougly $450. Also comes with a 1 year warranty in case anything happens. I can drive it as hard as I want and they'll replace it if anything brakes.
It's missing the Pads and the Rotors so I guess I'll need that to do the complete swap for my Soarer? I believe it bolts right up like the SC300/SC400 but I need to trim/remove my dust guards. Correct me if I'm wrong please![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
FOR THE ROTORS, what should I be getting? I'm running on the R1 Concept cross drilled + slotted rotors right now and they are pretty good. I was looking to order from them again but order just the Cross Drilled without the slots, I'd like input on this also..![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Pads.... I have no clue, cue me in![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I'll be installing some Maltech (australian brand) SS brake lines for the Soarer this or next weekend.
This setup will be used for mostly DD and weekend tracking, any input is appreciated
Thanks in advance

I think the TT calipers are great but the LS400 is good enough for what you want to do for a lot less $$$. You are looking at $100 calipers vs $450. That's a huge savings. I currently have a 98 LS400 calipers with the R1Concepts premium cross drilled/slotted and just took their Posi ceramic pads for the front. I spent a total of a little less than $500 for everything (Front/Rear premium rotors from R1, just the front pads since my rears are still good then the front LS400 calipers).

It is good if you already have the funds and willing to pay that much to begin with. You can see a used one just about anywhere on this forum or craigslist and thats a going rate for TT calipers.... I think someone over here is selling a set with rotors for $450. I don't see anything wrong with it but since the one you are getting is reconditioned, thats probably for peace of mind. However, how do you know they are reconditioned? Maybe they were just cleaned up. Its pretty hard to break a set of calipers.

i got my complete new/rebuilt tt caliper set from Napa auto parts and autozone. calipers were rebuilt from napa w/1yr warranty @$183ish and pads were from autozone@$33 with lifetime warranty. got a set of ss goodridge brake lines from amazon @$113 shipped and blank rotors from r1 concepts@about $110ish. so totaled to around $439. a true college budget front bbk upgrade for my sc300. now i just need to save up for the rears. look around the net and i guarantee that you will find a package similar to mine for at about the same price or cheaper.

I will actually pick up my Calipers TOMORROW for roughly $400CND for the pair at another store I just called. Also rebuilt with 1 year warranty. I find it's a descent price. I see used calipers going for $500 for the set with used pads and rotors..
NOW THE QUESTION IS SHOULD I ALSO DO THE REAR?![Big Grin](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Im upgrading the fronts for now only due to college funds. In my opinion, you'd only really need to do the rears if you arenplanning to do some serious stopping like on a track or if you have a really heavy foot and need to brake ASAP. if its just for city use, just upgrading your rear pads should be fine. I've read other posts where people do the front but not the rears b/c rears are hard to come by and EXPENSIVE. Its ideal but not necessary for daily driving. I'd put on the fronts first, and if you like how it stops already, save up and get it later.

comes with used rotors/pads. Should get you by while you save for good pads/rotors. I don't think anyone can beat that price.
