Sorry i was mainly thinking about the other bushings and did not read the part about the sway bar ones. It can work but is not the best way for a sway to stop it.

Usually a wire brush , BBQ brush or wire wheel makes it quick and easy.
Sway compared to other bushings can be a pain because if the end links allow lateral movement they will slide the grease out .

Problem with adding a nipple is you have to drill right through the bushing as well to be able to affect the surface of the sway bar which reduces its effectiveness.

The best trick is to use electrical tape , pro Teflon tape the pink stuff (not the white) which also works really well.

How would you use the tape?

Just wrap the tape around 3-4 times the full length of the bushing and it should hold up fine.

use a graphite based grease. do not use silicone based as it will eat at the poly bushings. ive used graphite grease on all my cars with poly bushings and never had squeaks. i got a tube at NAPA. im not so sure about the zerk fitting tho. i would just take the sway off and clean it and regrease.
