that setting in the pic is with the coilover adjustment in the middle, i can slam it to the almost the top of the rim, my shocks are not blown yet, but if you drive slamed they will probably blow out after a while, autozone has liftime warranty shocks with no hastle to exchange them.

You get what you pay for..

You have a nice ride. I've been watching your build and it's lookin better each time.

Since your on a budget, try getting some descent lowering springs. And if it's not low enough you can chop(I can't believe I'm saying this) a coil to give that drop you want.

here's some descent spring for $149... "brand new"

sure you can slam it on the till you tuck but how much shock play do you have left?? prolly none. which will make you bottom out constantly.

regarding the autozone shocks. see what their policy is about regarding lowered cars. just to be on the safe side.

Besides harsher ride, shorter shock life and official ghetto status , nothing.

Oh also, bump on the posting of the $40 coils. Hey like you said, nothing wrong with figuring out what works. I've seen people do worse...much worse!

Cutting springs is frowned on by many ppl. But who cares what ppl say. It's your damn car. Reason is: coil springs are designed to carry a certain load (lbs) . Sometimes when springs are cut they don't carry the same load well, get weaker and sag over the long run. Then you create more wear and tear on the struts. But on the other hand, if you choose to cut springs. Try to cut lowering springs instead of stock springs. Lowering springs typically have thicker/stronger coils and don't sag over the long run.

I've lowered many cars and this is just my personal experience. Hope this info helps.
