Default rack and pinion poop up on me OPTIONS

well i went to drop my car off att he shop this moring and the lugz snapped and i get he car on the way to school " cam ur lugz snapped" WTF u turn right back home to grab more and dop them off at the shop so i call again around 10:00 2 see if my car ready and is done now all of a sudden "cam ur rack and pinion is shot" wtf man i cannot catch a break with this black car i think i am going to fix it and just sell it in the summer after i do the minor body work. but i priced a rack and exrtas came to 300.00 i am going to have the shop do this since i have no close help what is the typcial price for this

I cant remember exactly, but I wanna say 500ish for a new steering rack installed... give or take exact labor costs. Its not TERRIBLE, but definitely not my favorite repair.

I wonder what the difference is between the Supra and SC racks..

I got quoted $800 for an OEM rack installed before, but that was them marking the rack up quite a bit I imagine.

you need a rack? i have a good shape one with daizen rack to subframe bushings, but i am in norcal.

i have never seen an SC rack and pinion go bad.

what did they mean your "lug nuts snapped"? they broke off? and you dropped off new one for the shop. something doesnt sound right about this place...

i had to replace my rack and pinion last year because it started leaking really badly.

I replaced my rack with a new one from lexus this year because my inner tie rods were bad and I could feel a little bit of play in my rack at 198K miles.

The rack from Lexus (all new everything inside a reused case) was around 480 ish. It did not include outer tie rod ends..

I hope thats what you were asking. It was hard to understand your incoherent, longest run on sentence I've seen in a while. nice one.

naw said my lugs just snapped so i had to go back but when they got the car on the lift. they said that he rack and pinion was shot. but the week before last i was driving in the ran and the car just spun out jump the curb and almost ran into 2 on comming cars so since then i have not drivent he car but to the shop for other work.


the rack was so loose i wiggled it with my hand and my mechinc did also

had that happen too i had fluild all over the ground was wonering where it cam from
