yeah, I know, I might be mis-stating what it actually is, but, it's on what looks a heck of a lot like an upper "A-arm" and it looks a whole lot like a ball-joint.
I'll try to get a pic.
It's hard to see in the picture but the 'ball joint' I was referring to is at the 12:00 position, and then there's some kind of locating arm with a similar 'ball joint' at the 3:00 position.
Use a C-clamp of some sort to press the two connecting arms together so the lower knuckle can grab onto the balljoint. Not sure if I'm confusing you even more, but that's how I've always done it on other cars.
I double checked the threads, cleaned and lubed them...
the upper ball joint was beaten into submission..........the one on that locating arm thing only cooperated when I used a set of real skinny/narrow vise-grips to hold the shaft while tightening the nut. I got lucky and the shaft wedged into place before the skinny vise-grips got stuck.
Quick question, did you pop the ball joint to get the rear shocks into the car? I'm having trouble getting the rear shocks in, I don't have enough clearance....
I removed the camber bolt when I installed my rear shocks. Makes installation a lot easier unless you can wrestle it in. One you get the shocks in, don't install the shock bolt yet. Re-install the camber bolt first and then the shock bolt.

I can't...I don't know why. I'll have my friend look at it at his body shop then...and if he can't do it, I'll pop that ball joint and see if that gets me the clearance I need.
The lca keeps hitting the knuckle when I try to bolt it all in.
How do you get the shock lined up if you already have the camber bolt in?
I place a jack under the LCA and use a combination of screwdrivers and such to line the shock to its proper hole. Kind of have to play around with it for a while. BTW, I've never seen the LCA hitting the knuckle before. Do you have a picture of what it looks like right now?
Not right now...I'll try to get some if we have some problems. Hopefully going out to his shop tomorrow to look at it. I'll keep you updated, sorry to thread jack lol.
