Default Something Bent? Maybe

I was coming around a bend getting on the highway at about 45mph when I smacked the median with the front passenger side of my car. I replaced that rim and remounted the tire which was fine….since then I noticed the car seemed to pull and then some vibration around 80mph so I took it in for an alignment but Lexus drove it and said it didn’t need it. Well 10k miles later the very inside of that tire was worn to the threads while the rest was still ok. I took the car to a body shop and had them measure the frame and shock towers but they were fine. I put a new set of tires on with an alignment but I still get a vibration around 80mph…Any ideas on what might be bent/wrong?

Find a better lexus tech to go to. Or tell them about your issues and make them look into it more.

I'm kinda in the same boat except mine is the rear.

Does the vibration get better above 80mph or worse? If it gets better you most likely have a wheel &/or tire balance problem if it gets worse the faster you go its probably worn suspension part. I'm guessing it's the wheel you replaced

If you hit the median going 45mph, then you more than likely have a bent wheel. I'd get to a tire shop and get them to check that wheel for you.

Guys, he said he replaced the rim/wheel. Just not the tire.

You're assuming he replaced it with a new wheel.

Why would he "replace" the bent rim with one that was still bent?
You asked him to have the shop check the wheel that he hit, don't pretend thats not what you meant. haha

There's only one place you can buy a new OEM wheel. There are, however, HUNDREDS of places you can "replace" an "OEM wheel" with one from another car, that no one would know was bent until you tested it.

Thanks for all the replies...I replaced the wheel/rim with a brand new factory rim ordered right through lexus to the tune of 500 dollars....its not the rim. Something is slightly bent but the car goes into alignment...I have replaced the tires since then as well.
