I agree burning is a waste of time and lethal . I did it once 10 years ago and will never try that again .
I prefer one good 1/2 drill bit 1/4 inch away from the sleeve then recip saw to make a nice clean line. It will pop out easy enough with a hammer even with the rest of rubber in there.

Im going to have to disagree? Im not a big fan of burning rubber. And cutting them out with a coping saw took about 5 minutes each.
Once the rubber is cut out.. all it does is give your room to play with.
those metal sleeves are rounded off at the edges and will be near impossible to get them out any other way. I would recc cutting the sleeve with an electrical reciprocating saw and hammering it out.

OP i have heard some people didnt install this whole kit due to harshness on DD it....do you dont think you lost anything in comfort with this?
