i know on my sc3 it uses automatic transmission fluid dextron 5. i flushed mine with synthetic. jack up the front of the car with it running and turn the wheel fully left and right to get the bubbles to float to the top. your solenoid screen going to your rack may be clogged(search) or your o-ring on the bottom of the resevour could be leaking.

I flushed mine with dextron 3 ATF because i had the same problem,

seems like everytime it gets cold out my car wistles and the ps fluid turns to slushy.

so i flushed it and it should be good till next year

I'm having the same problem.I replaced the pressure line and rubber return lines, it was good for a day then back to overflowing and the fluid looks all frothy. It means air is getting in somewhere.
