How do I maintain my suspension?

I plan on buying some Stance coilovers in the future so that takes care of the shocks and springs.
However, when going over bumps and whatnot I can "hear" the suspension. It's not a loud metal sound, but its a thumping sound every time I hit a small pothole and low speeds. I accidentally ran over a rock the other day right over with my front right tire (about twice the size of your fist) and the suspension on the front left has been making some weird "thumping" noises when going over speed bumps and whatnot...
So generally speaking, what is the 101 when it comes to maintaining a suspension for a car you bought not too long ago?

Check your bushings, LCA's are usually the first to go, but it won't hurt to check out the other ones.
