99 GS300 Calipers locked
So now my son is driving my 99 while I drive the newer 06 model. Well, my son hydro planed, hit the curb, popped both tires on the passengers side. Had it towed to Firestone and they tell me the calipers are locked, the lower control arm bushing is busted and either the tie rod or steering rod is bent, can't remember which. They want $1950.00 to fix it all. I told to stick it up is ---! And to just change the tires and I will have it towed to my house and fix it myself.
So, my question is, how do you unlock the calipers?

Yes the calipers loked after the accident. Weird thing is that it's the driver's side that locked up. He hit the curb on the passenger side. So what do I do to unlock them? Bleed the brakes?

Oh man, those people at Firestone (Spring Valley Firestone on Two Notch Rd., Columbia,SC) They are a either a bunch of crooks or IDIOTS. I finally got around to looking at the car myself. The rotor on the driver's side looks very bad. But the caliper is not locked. I drove the car around the block twice, got up to 40 mph. No problems at all. Drove straight. Didn't pull to either side when applying the brakes. No noise, no shaking, nothing. I am so glad I didn't let them do anything. Gonna change the rotor and the brakes Wednesday when I am off and at that time, I'll check the lower control arm bushing.

Yes, open the bleeder and use a C clamp to move it. Check caliper for frozen piston, leaks and seals. If it looks ok. re-bleed and see if it improves. I would say of the bat, it sounds like a frozen piston, is just a Crazy coincidence that it happened after the accident.
Good luck
