I agree with Tristan at CMS that the BCR are more performance oriented coilovers. For the money paid, you are getting far better ride quality/compliance, handling, and overall best value.

JDM coilovers are good, but they usually cost well over 1.5k. BCR coilovers are affordable, has excellent build quality, and has excellent value. My friends who drives the current generation Civic SI and Honda Fit has BCR coilovers. A couple of my buddies all use BCR on their IS250/350 and they love them. I am not sure if coilovers do break in half, but as far as everyday driving and spirited driving goes, I know alot of people who are very satisfied with their BCR coils.

I have BC's and I love them, hell I ride on 30 series tires and the ride quality is not that diffrent from factory.

where'd you see it, in some other forum?

barring unusual, extreme sideway forces or catastrophic premature structural failure, coilovers should not be breaking in half.

i have yet to hear of a case or see one, so unless you can prove it your statement of "i see too many taiwan made coilover breaking in half" is nothing better than conjecture. /OT

NO, "most" coilovers do not have a locking nut. Unless you are talking about the locking nut on top of the damper that locks it in place to the top mount.

I was referring to the lower ring that lock the body in place with the lower mount. Some manufacturers do have a locking ring, or device that keeps it in place, but most of the budget coilovers don't.

And a lot of you would be suprised to learn that your "JDM" coilovers aren't manufactured in Japan or ever see japanese soil.

^^^ can you provide an example (i.e. picture) of this lower ring that locks the body in place with the lower mount?

my guess is that the coilovers can wind/unwind itself, causing unwanted height adjustments.
