Are the Tanabes monotube or twin tube? I believe the Tanabes are twin tube, similar to TEIN SS. I know BC Racing coils are monotube. Monotubes are considered higher performance and better dampening compared to twin tube.
I guess people usually go with Tanabe because of its brand popularity, Japan manufacturing, and perhaps everyday driving with a decent drop.
If you are willing to spend the amount of money on Tanabe, I suggest you consider monotube coilovers that will deliver more performance and satisfaction for the money spent.

The BCR's are a better choice IMO.
They are monotube instead of twin-tube. They offer Rubber upper mounts for better NVH control. The BCR's have a locking lower ring to make sure your ride height stays put and they have a much better "rebuilding" service.
The Tanabes are a decent coil, but not as good a "bang-for-your-buck" setup.
The BC's are stout too, the Tanabes aren't any "stronger".
Feel free to PM us for more info or pricing.
