i live in Bloomington and i know a guy who can do it for 250

Not a bad price for dealership. Does that include alignment?

i don't believe that was with an alignment, but the car seems to be fine and doesn't pull one way when driving at all. that was also including using a 15% coupon my dealer gave me towards accessories when i purchased the car.

I think I paid about that much including alignment. Just went with dealer install for peace of mind.

Alignment is recommended. What does the dealer say, (not that they are necessarily experts)? Best not to wait until acclerated tire wear becomes obvious.

A vehicle should always be aligned after changing suspension components like springs, unless you're ok with changing tires a lot more often then you'd otherwise need to.

600 is way over priced. You could DIY for free. All you need is some basic tools and the spring compressors (obtainable from autozone)

my local dealer quoted 450 for install, but that was the accessories lady saying it's listed at 4-4.5 hours. It wasn't exactly a firm quote and I never got one. That said, a local guy quoted me $75 an hour for labor, which would equate to 300-350. My car is already out of warranty, so not sure if it'd be worth it to pay the extra 100 for lexus to do it. I may just do that b/c I like to give the dealer some $ every now and then so that if I need something (like when they gave me a free HID bulb outside of warranty), my service records show I spent some money there

it's not just a toe-in/out issue that would generate a pull. By lowering the car, you're changing the camber. Specifically, I think you'd be introducing negative camber and wear the inside of the tires. I'd reccomend an alignment. It'll save you $ in tires and make the car handle the way it's supposed to

BTW, for those reccomending a spring compressor and DIY, isn't changing springs really dangerous? Maybe not with the compressor but I had always assumed that something went awry, the stored energy in the spring could kill you

^^^actually it is a toe-in/out issue on our cars because the camber is not adjustable..wear on the inside tires has been proven to be more of a toe issue than camber..

changing springs is not dangerous if done correctly by an experienced person..i've worked on many suspensions and the isx50 is not very difficult to tackle..just take your time and do it right..

interesting. The dealer (not that it means it's right) said they took some of the camber out of it to give better tire wear last time they did an alignment. Could have been B/S but I didn't bring it up, they did.

do you know is there an alignment kit that needs to be used after installing lowering springs to keep the camber correct?

Given the RWD ISx50 doesn't have the ability to adjust camber I'd say it was BS, yeah. They told you they did something that's physically impossible.
