Default Changing rear brake pads (seized slide pin)

I looked at the DIY section and did a search but couldn't find anything. While replacing my rear pads one side went smooth I was able to get both pads in without any problems. The other side the outer pad didn't fit, well it did after some taps with the hammer but I didn't use any shims. I couldn't get the bolts to tighten down all the way and while driving around the block I heard this pop and I guess the caliper got seated because I was able to tighten it down. My question is this normal and are there specific pads for the left and right side. Thanks

I think I've found the answer a seized sliding pin. Check out the link also when you put the caliper back on without the pads you should be able to slide it out back and forth thus making room for the outer pad. Hopefully that popping sound was the pin getting unstuck. I have to take it apart again this weekend to put the outer shim on so hopefully I didn't break anything.

There's a LSB for stuck rear caliper sliders. I would take the car to Lexus and have them fix it under warranty if I were you.

I have 70+k so I dont think it's covered under warrany. I'll bring it in on Friday to get it re-inspected and mention it. Thanks

I just got back from Lexus and its not good. That popping noise I heard was from the outer part of the rotor breaking from the inner part. So now I have to buy a new caliper and rotor. Lexus said they did the LSB about a year ago but it seized again. Does anyone know where I can get a aftermarket OEM replacement caliper? Thanks

About a year ago? Their fix is warranted for at least 12 months. I'd find out exactly how long ago it was and if not more than 12 months, they need to fix their bad work.
