Default Swap OEM Luxury Springs for Sport Springs?

I wanted to know if swapping the OEM Standard springs for someone's OEM Sport springs will improve the handling of my car along with loweing it 1/2 inch?

I really want to keep the ride as comfy as possible, as Im in the car all day, but my car sits really high and I see other stock sport 350's that seem to look lower and just better imo

Does anyone have an active comparison of the ride quality on a reg/sport ISX50?

Any negatives to doing this?

Thanks!

Sport springs dropped very mildly, I can barely notice it from stock springs. If you're going to pay for labor just for that drop I'd suggest something like Fsport, Eibach or coil.

^^^ Agreed and you can probably get some "take-off" sport springs for very cheap. But to spend the money on installation labor and alignment for a barely noticeable difference in ride/handling/drop seems hardly worth the trouble. I've driven both versions of the IS350 and difference was minor.

Yes, as I said they should be close to free, there are so many sets sitting around in peoples garages and thrown away at shops.

Cost is $250-$300 for installation including alignment by a shop that will do it right in high cost suburban/urban locations.

I gotta say...I wouldnt like driving (or looking at) my car near as much if it had the completely non sport setup.

IMO the sport springs give it a decent look from the factory and are still pretty freakin smooth on the road. Dont expect a performance gain....really.

Visually I'm not sure I can see the difference between the OEM luxury springs and the OEM sport springs on the cars if they were side by side.

I was at Topline in burlingame to get a tire mounted/balanced that I bought off tire rack, and just out of curiosity I asked for a quote to get H&R springs installed .... they told me it would be $700

I hope that includes materials (meaning the H&R springs), although it should be closer to $600 out the door with springs/installation/alignment. Otherwise that sounds like Lexus dealership installation pricing.

That does not include springs

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I was wondering if anyone knows the answer to the original post?

Has any with the luxury package swapped just the springs for the sport springs? If so, how was the ride and handling? Any cons to doing this?

Not sure who has done it- but note that the sport package has different springs and shocks... so I'd try to get take-offs of both if doing the swap as otherwise you'll have stiffer springs without stiffer shocks- usually not the best combo.

Personally I like the OEM sport suspension quite a bit (once you add the F-sport sways)- and given most aftermarket springs are progressive, which I'm not a fan of, I plan to stick with that setup.

A swap not worth the bother IMO, I've seen and driven both.
