Should I wait to install coils and rims at the same time?

Default Should I wait to install coils and rims at the same time?

So I'm planning to get coilovers and rims sometime in the near future. Can I install the coils now with my stockies and put on the rims later or would that involve extra cost (e.g. a second alignment after the rims go on)?

For me, I will wait so you don't have to pay two times for alignment =)

drop first then rims, a dropped car on stock rims will always look better than a stock height car on aftermarket wheels.

alignment will be needed after coils are installed..if you change the ride height with your new wheels then you probably will have to get the alignment checked again..usually a reputable shop will give you at least 1-year alignment warranty so if you get your wheels within a year of the alignment then you can take it back to them to check the alignment..

Yes, that's the plan. I'm just wondering how much extra it would cost if I did coils first then rims later instead of all at the same time. Sounds like I would save on an alignment since I'd have to do it again after the rims go on.

hey brociouz. i waited and went with coils n wheels at the same time. you do save on the alignment cost, but also u get everything knocked out at once. I'm a lazy guy, so i rather wait then to go to the alignment place 2 separate times. But go drop first before wheels if u want to do 1 at a time =)

That's a good thought. Maybe that's what I'll do then, that way I don't get slammed with all these car mod costs at the same time. Thanks!

I would drop first before wheels.. stock height and aftermarket wheels may look awkward..

put the coilovers on first, you might not need an alignment.

I'm open to recommendations, but am leaning toward BC Racing or TEIN CST (the latter probably being too expensive). I want to keep the ride quality as close to stock as possible, which rules out the TEIN SS Coilovers. I've also ruled out Megan because of the pillowmounts that replace the stock rubber. Any others I should be looking into?

^

I heard good things about BC coils. If you have funds though, KW v3's.
