Default Opinions wanted on this Supra brake kit..

So, I've spent my hours reading old threads about the Supra brake kit and the LS400 brake upgrades to the point that I'm saturated. Not 100% educated,...but mentally saturated for now.

I was thinking very seriously of buying this front brake kit and wondered what you guys thought of it. http://www.suprastore.com/lexsupfronbr.html

I need a kit,...I was going to piece things together but I never really found calipers or rotors of stock supra sizing that I knew were good quality. I just don't know enough, nor do I want to spend $2500-$3500.

By the way,....I never found an answer/thread regarding whether we could get a larger rotor on the back. Did I miss something there?

that is too expensive, you can usually source the kit in the classifieds for around $600 with everything.

The ls400 calipers are dirt cheap and light...plus, if you are not gonna take advantage of them (supra) then why pay more? You can get RCA and save the shock and still cost less than that kit.

I'll go check out the Classifieds but I need me some brakes like right now. Been driving with heavy squeal for quite a while - in fact, I parked it and am driving a hoopty until the brakes are replaced.

Vwynn - i think you're right on the pad options.

Sam430 or anyone - what is "RCA" I've seen that abbv. a few times here now and I just don't know what it is.

RCA = Roll Center Adapters (aka Super Stroke "SS" Kit)

You will need front RCAs if you run the LS400 calipers because they will hit the steering knuckle....they run for $180 + shipping + tax + paypal.

thanks everyone. I found that kit in the Classifieds a few pages in, looks good.

Anyone have any input regarding the rear brakes and increased rotor size?

Call up steve over at Carson toyota and order the entire front TT brake upgrade kit for $800. It comes with pads, rotors, SS lines, calipers all ready to install and it's all brand new.

NO...if you intend to keep the oem rear calipers.

$1k is too much. Tell them to come down to reality. They were originally selling them for $699 back a few years.
