Tein S Tech questions, trusted online store..
Hi:
I'm looking to get a set of Tein S-Tech for my '98 GS400. My mechanic quoted me $590 installed (Canadian dollars, including 13% tax). My questions are:
1) Is this a reasonable price or am I better off getting the springs online and having him install them?
2) I know there is the issue with the fake Teins...does anyone know a trusted online vendor to get them from?
3) Has anyone bought Tein S Techs off ebay? Prices on ebay range from about $190 Canadian dollars to $235 Canadian plus $65 to $75 dollars shipping, but again there is the issue with the fakes.
Normally I wouldn't care for small savings but I'm doing a bunch of other suspension work that is gonna cost a lot and trying to save where I can.
Thanks a lot guys I appreciate the help.

thanks for the input guys. I didn't go with coilovers because as I understand it they are quite a bit more pricey for the good ones. I understand you get what you pay for, but my rear coil springs are broken, I need them replaced soon, and I don't have a huge amount of cash to spend on this.
All I'm looking for is a little drop. If my springs weren't broken I wouldn't even be doing this. I have seen pics of other GS's with 18" rims and Tein S-tech and like how they look.
What's the advantage of the coilover, besides the adjustable height?
