Default Any Coilovers similar to Teins CS V.2 ?

First of all, Teins went up in price like a mother.
Is there an alternative coilover I can go with that is quality and affordable then the CS V.2?

I don't like slamming. Nice 2-3 inch drop would do good for me already. I got 18's and I want a nice ride. I go 50 miles everyday of commuting. So I need something that would run smooth.

Thanks for the help.

I remembered they increased it to 1550 or so, but now Carson has them for $1860.

John, I thought you could get them for a good price?

GSteg:Well the guy said $1300. Now it's $1450. Didn't really want to spend that much.

4ntvings: Isn't HKS coilvers obsolete? I want to get coils because I want to play with the height and stiffness.

usd1860?
OP, wait for a used set of HKS to come up. i completely understand your take on the height and stiffness, i was the same way in fact, i went from s/s combo, then on to 2 sets of coilovers, finally satisfied w/HKS

imho, best advice is to ride in cars w/different coilover setups. this will give you clearer idea of your options. GL!

So, the OP's question was "Is there an alternative coilover I can go with that is quality and affordable then the CS V.2?"

Answer: Maybe

There are a few coilovers on the market now that are lower price, the same if not better quality (from reviews and member comments), and will let you have your moderate drop:

Stance GR+
BC Racing BR series
Megan Street LP Series

Most of them will run you under 1k

Best bang-for-your-buck coilover IMO is the BCR BR series setup.

We can spec you a custom soft spring rate if you're interested in a soft ride and we spec rubber upper mounts for less NVH.

I think they are comparable to the tiens in quality and they will go much lower than the CST's will if you want them to.

Feel free to PM us if your'e interested

This will obviously be a shameless plug for myself since I'll putting my CS's for sale tonight . But why not looking a used set and send them off to Tein and have been rebuilt if need be?

I know that most people get turned off by the idea of buying something that needs work but Tein has a relatively inexpensive and quality rebuilding process and they turn things around quick. I used them to rebuild the Tein Flex on my Integra last year and it was a painless process. Regardless of people's opinions about the product and price, they have been around for a long time and one would assume for a while to come so you know you'll have the product support for ownership.

How much does Teins charges to do a rebuild on their coilovers (CST V.2). Where are they located?

CS v2 (black tubes) are rebuilt in the good ole U.S. of A....specificially Socal. CS v1 (gold tubes) need to be sent to Japan for rebuilding. I'd rather buy a new set of coilovers (non-Teins) than rebuild Teins.

i'd rather get BC or Megans than tein CS. reason being with CS, you shorten the shock travel the lower you go. where as with BC or Megan, you can lower your car about 3 inches without losing any shock travel.

ditto...that's why I would never buy tein coilovers ever again.

Good thing I haven't bought them yet. Now reading from this made me changed my mind. Now the question is should I go w/ BC, Megans, or Stance? I'm really into quality.. I want something can last a good 30k, strong built, quiet, no noise, comfortable, and etc.
