Default Those who installed BC Coilovers

Hey guys,

This weekend i will be attempting to install my bc racing coilovers. i will be doing this with my cousin who is pretty good with kind of stuff. He changed all his cars including the 10 GTR. anyways, i just wanted some feedback as to, is there anything i should look out for? as to do's and don'ts, and also other then your normal tools, is there any special tool that i should go and buy or rent, like spring compressors?

also, with the settings, ive been doing some research but reviews are all over the board. i guess my kit came with the 10k/8k. what settings should i use to have a good ride.

thanks for your help

I used 6 clicks in front and 4 in rear and it rides pretty soft. Almost like stock!!! almost! Dont forget to torque down your lug nuts after your coilover install instead of just hand tightening it like i did! lol good thing i caught it before my damn wheels fell off during the half a mile test drive.

Check your spring preload, check if all the bolts are tightened etc...

if you're re-using the oem upper mounts, you may want a spring compressor so you don't have parts flying everywhere when you unbolt the upper mounts from the shock assembly. at least i think that's what you might need.

as far as settings for a "good" ride, start out with middle settings and dial in a firmer/softer ride as desired.

You wont need to use any OEM parts off the shocks/springs.

Should we reuse the oem upper mount?

You will not reuse the oem upper mount because the new coilovers comes with them! All you need to do is swap the shock bodies and your set! just make sure everything is tight and torqued to spec when finished.

I did mine in fourty five minutes. But then again I had access to airtools and lift at work. All you need is a 10, 12, 14, 17, and 19mm socket. Pry bar. If I did it on jacks one at a time it would take me a little longer. Its not hard.

My settings are 15 all around. I was on the stiffest setting but damn was it hard. Handling was superbb. I like em better then megans when i use to have them.

Pry bar? You didn't reset the bushings to neutral? I feel sorry for your car.

Taking out your whole trunk interior is unnecessary. Just pull em back.

And lobux what do mean set the bushings back to neutral? The pry bar was just to pull the lower control arm down. Which isnt really necessary cause man strengths enough to get the stock strut out. I did forget to mention i used a spin jack to push the lower control arm back up so i can reattach the sway bar link and the 19mm bolt for the strut/coilover
