Default Help! What do I do now? (aftermarket pads & rotors)

Hello everyone,

Today I took my car into the dealership for the TSIB on brakes squeak and dustless pads. Turns out my rotors and pads are aftermarket parts so the TSIB could not be done. I wasn't aware because I've only owned the car for a couple of weeks now. The weird thing about it all is I'm getting the excess brake dust and squeaks (exactly as the TSIB describes) from these after market parts. The mechanic told me that my brake pads are brand new and that the squeaks may be caused by the aftermarket rotors. I don't know much about cars so, what can I do to fix this problem?

P.S They quoted me around $600-700 to have all the rotors and pads changed back to OEM including labor. I told them I'd think about it which lead me here to ask what is everyone's thoughts on this?

Are the rotors brand new? Might need to be resurfaced.

there are low dust after market pads out there. I believe they are ceramic brake pads. Ive heard the braking isnt as good as regular pads but you do get less dust, lol

Ah! Sucks that my rotors and pads aren't OEM. I would have gotten this fix for free under the TSIB. I called the dealership and they wanted to charge me a ridiculous amount to inspect, replace, and let me take every last penny from you because you have aftermarket parts! Anyone know if the squeaking could possibly be due to not having lubrication?

Any idea on the cost of getting your rotors resurfaced? I'd like to get a good idea so I don't get ripped off...
