Rotor Replacement

Rotor Replacement
I'm planning on replacing my brake pads this weekend, however I have been told by the dealership that I need to replace the rotors everytime I replace the pads. Something to do with the inability to resurface them? This sounds strange to me, so can someone confirm if this is true. And if it is, why? My rotors appear fine.. TIA.

Isn't there a way to check to see if the rotors need to be re-surfaced or not?
I got the TSIB done at 10k with regards to the dusty to non-dusty pads. My car has just over 40k now and I'm starting to hear a litttttle but of a squeal at low speeds while slowing..

That could be the pad wear indicators if you use your brakes a lot. I'd check them first.

my rotors were resurfaced by the dealer and now am having to replace them. there is no need to replace rotors each time u replace brake pads. and i also suggest to not resurface the rotors.

[QUOTE=ebell;5452314]Is it DIY-easy? How do I tell if it's time to replace them rust-wise?
Definitely DIY. As long as you have the proper tools...ie torque wrench, maybe a breaker bar, and a 8mm x 1.25 bolt, not to mention the obvious tools.
as for the second i kind of want to know this as well as when replacing my rear brakes i saw a little bit of rust but ignored it, figure i'll replace it later.
