Sliding bushings?
What does the sliding bushing actually do? When replacing my front and rear calipers I noticed the slide pins I purchased not only didnt come with any bushing but there was no cut out for them............are they really necessary.

I believe that is sort of a guide to keep the sliding pin straight and keep the caliper from alignment when it squeezes the pads... I saw your other post about the rotor. The guy who first replied to your post is right. It is due to misaligned caliper and when you run metal to metal.

If that is really the purpose of it then yes right?.... If the new pins dont have it then its probably a new design where you dont need it anymore. I would make sure tho that it is properly lubricated/greased up. I had WTB post on SC3/4 section a while back. My cousin's mom's car (92 SC300) sliding pins siezed up causing the rotors to get all messed up like your other post. We had to replace the caliper bracket. We ended up replacing the whole thing since a fellow SC'er gave us a helping hand.
