Wheel wobble and steering shaking after installing hubcentric 15mm bolt on spacers!!
i recently installed these bolt on 15mm spacers on the front of my car and ever since my steering wheel shakes at 50-60mph..i look at my front wheels as im rolling and they actually look like they are wobbling..as if the wheels are bent..but both fronts? so i decided to remove the spacers to see if the shaking/wobbling continues..and nothing..rides perfectly normal..no shake or anything at any speeds
so my question is..even tho the spacers are hubcentric and all that..why does this happen? is it cuz its a bolt-on type? im goin to be replacing my front upper control arms soon but as of right now..it doesnt seem to be the issue..ive already replaced my lower control arms
what do i do?? i want to be flush!
i got the spacers off ebay.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWNX%3AIT
thanks in advanced for anyone that helps

they are hubcentric 60.1 bore..i do have some slight rust on the hub..u think that can cause the wheel to wobble that much? its a pretty noticable wobble and its a big steering wheel shake..i have ichiba spacers in the rear and they work fine

Two weeks ago I installed my Ichiba version II 15mm spacers up front without any issues. I sanded away the rust that was on the rotor and made sure both surfaces were clean. Although the spacers are hub-centric, I placed my hub rings that I had earlier onto the spacers. Tightened and torqued in the star pattern and I was good to go. Again I don't know if having the hub rings prevents any shakes since the spacers are already hub-centric. I figure what the heck.

I only ask cause u know one time I was positive I had a balanced tire and whaddya know it wasn't!

im sure my tires are pretty balanced..considering now that i have those off..i have no issues..the spacers i bought say they are 60.1 hubcentric..i have a lil bit of rust build up on the hub..could that be a factor?
i dont have hubcentric RINGS on my wheels..but running the wheels on the stock hub doesnt vibrate or anything..its when adding the spacers, which ARE hubcentric, is when all hell breaks loose

so people use the hubcentric RINGS for the wheels AND hubcentric spacers? i just thought it was, u either had one or the other..never knew u could/should use both

Honestly I don't recall seeing in any threads about using hub rings along with spacers that are suppose to be hub-centric. I didn't notice anything weird when I first put them on my 25mm spacers in the rear so when I mounted 15mm spacers in the front recently, I didn't hesitate to put the rings on those before mounting my wheels.
I definitely understand your question. The spacers I first put on in the rear are hub-centric so technically there shouldn't be a need for rings. I had the rings and figure what the heck I'll just install them too. Not sure if there is any added benefit of doing this but at least the vibrations are gone.
