Coils vs Air
Air or Coils
wat yall think
i know there are hella thread out there like this
but none of them actually argure on there which is better air or coil
they just go over the facts
baiscally my cousin has an eclass n says he cant do anything but go on air
where as im on stance coils
people say its more hard core if your on coils
but u get better ride with air n considerd true VIP??
so wat justifies on or the other MOre than one or the other lol
wats ur guys arguments????

uh actually they do argue about them... plain and simple, coils get you stuck while air will save you, plain and simple. Air done right can and will ride the same as coilovers, just gonna cost money.

Their is no air VS coils , your either want / need one or the other .
One does what the other cannot.
It is all about your preference for what you want it to do . So you have figure that out first.
price
ride height
sporty or luxury .
I disagree that air can be made to perform like a coil spring and strut . it has never been achieved even by any auto manufacture , Lexus or Mercedes with factory air . It is just smooth but always will be wallowy.

iono guys... with my ksport air i never had that luxury feel... maybe its cuz i made it more "sporty" higher PSI + Stiff dampening.. but yea my friend with an s2k said it feels almost like his s2k in terms of response and stiffness... thats his word n not mine.. he had a Cusco cage + Buddy club coilovers on his s2k... but yea...
anyways
Slammed coilover GS + Steep driveway = Scrapped bumper + Busted fender (not always but yea..)
Slammed Bagged GS + Steep Driveway = Push button + clear driveway + Smile + drive off
Slammed Coilver GS + high Speedbump = Scrape body + Scrape undercarride + Scrape exhaust
Slammed bagged GS + high Speedbump = Push button + Clear driveway + Smile + Drive off
thats how i see it at least...

Thank you Vwynn... cause there ARE setups of air that can ride for sport. hell, if you really want sport with adjustment, then you can do hydraulics like some race cars are made with. IMO, anything is achievable when done right. As you said, with higher psi its like a stiff shock and with proper struts to adjust dampening to make up for the stiff bag... you pretty much got the same thing.
oh and its the 'sleeve' style bag that gives you the luxury feel/float. There are different bags for different applications. Just as there are coils for every application, kits that give factory spec and then there are the stiff race style ones.

I prefer coilovers with hydraulic lift
If it's good enough for Lamborghini from the factory, then it's good enough for me.
KW suspension FTW!
