Grinding noise?

Yesterday i was driving and when i stepped on the brakes the car made a loud grinding noise am like wth is that noise? By the way i need to do my brakes and would like to upgrade to the ls400 bbk can someone tell me what is needed and I searched did'nt find anything helpful also how much is it plan on ordering some stuff this week

Yes, sounds like your brakes are pretty bad most likely metal to metal contact.
There's plenty of info on the forum about the LS400 caliper swap. You'll need, of course, the LS400 four piston calipers along with the rotors, hardware/shim kit and a set of pads. You will also have think about the mounting bolts. Some people order a set of LS400 bolts, some grind the existing SC bolts, since they are a bit long. Lastly, you can get some lock washers to offset the length of the bolts. It's your choice, there's a large debate in what is proper when finding a solution to the mounting bolts. Also, some require a slight grind on the tab to clear the mounting surfaces; I did not run into this problem.
