Default Issue with Vogtland springs and KYB G2's

I got a set of Supra lowering springs made by Vogtland. The fronts fit like a glove spot on, on the KYB G2's. The rears however dont fit. The issue is that the top hat is to fat to allow the spring to make contact to where it should sit in place. Any ideas or suggestions? Thank you for all the help guys. Its all appreciated.

Did they make GR-2's for the Supra? I'm thinking maybe the KYB's are for an SC.

No. IIRC the GR2's were not available for the MK4 Supra, only the MK3/SC/Cressida/Other Toyota's. Thus KYB introduced the AGX series for the MK4

yeah.. if they're gr-2's then I believe they're only for the SC.. so you'll need to get AGX or other shocks that are for the supra mk4 for the springs to seat properly. can't use supra springs on SC shocks and vice versa.

Well the front springs sit perfectly. Would it be a bad idea to mix-n-match shocks? Say I get AGX for the rear and keep the G2's in the front, would that be bad? And IIRC, someone at Titan Motorsports said that they would work with G2's...along with various other members in another thread I'd started. Bummer only the front worked out.

P.S. What if I were to mix lowering springs? Say I keep the front and get eibachs for the rear or just cut the spring even? Any ill effects prone to come about?

Well you CAN switch out just the shocks or just the springs, but the result will be a car that is not balanced. I would try selling the GR2's and getting some Bilsteins.

Can you take a pic? I'm using Supra springs too, and I used the SC tophats with no problems. They fit perfectly.

Seems like the problem is the spring perch on the rear shocks. The front struts are basically the same between the SC and the MKIV and the top hats won't matter. The rear on the other hand is different and you'll need shocks from a MKIV for your Supra springs.

^^He's not talking about the perch... he said the perch fit fine, he's talking about the tophat.

and thats whats making it confusing. I myself and several other members are using Supra springs/shocks with the stock SC tophats with no issues. In this case a picture is worth thousands of words and more..

I know what you're talking about, I'm using Supra springs too... and actually I just reread the thread, and I could've sworn he said it was sitting on the perches in the front AND rear perfectly... but I guess I was wrong,

I dont see why you would have a problem running the G2s up front and the kyb agx in the rear cause you could adjust the agx to be close in dampening to the G2's
