Default LS400 BBK questions on ebay auction

I've been interested in looking into new brakes for a while. My GS400 brakes well and the pads are in great shape but i believe the rotors are warped. Under certain braking conditions the pedal shakes a bit, but the steering wheel doesnt usually shake noticeably.

Will the difference from stock GS brakes in good condition and an LS400 BBK be noticeable? I found the front rotors and calipers on ebay for around $150 HERE and was wondering if that was all that would be needed for the upgrade? Well, along with pads.

Also, how easy is it to install? im not very handy but im trying to become better working on cars. How much would it cost for a mechanic to install the calipers?

Thanks everyone!

We have plenty of threads on the LS400 swaps.

You need to get Roll center adapters or shave off part of the tie rod bolt.

You also need wheels that will clear the brakes so if you're on stock wheels, you'll need 15mm spacers.

thanks for the reply GSteg. Unfortunately you answered all the questions previously answered with the reading i did do of prior threads. I was asking about the specific kit i linked to on ebay. It seemed like it had a few different parts included, and i was wondering if i would need anything else besides what the person was selling. For example, shims, or different bolts or anything else.

thanks for your speedy reply though.

And the answer still remains the same

The 'kit' in the ebay link is no different than any other LS400 calipers out there. Those shims and guide pin are just taken off the caliper for picture purposes I guess. There are no missing parts that I could see.

thanks again GSteg. I obviously didnt win the kit on ebay (too bad, since it cost nearly nothing to have better brakes). ohh well, im on the lookout for some calipers now. 15mm spacers are needed for the stock 17" wheels or stock 16" wheels? I've got the 16"s for my winter wheels so hopefully they'll clear with some spacers?

Both 16 and 17" oem wheels require 15mm spacers. Good luck with your search

16s will work as long as you have 15mm spacers.

Sorry for the bad quality pic. I forgot to set the exposure correctly. This is my spare 16" wheel, but you get the idea.

no lexus oem wheel will fit the supras or ls brakes unless 2nd gen ls wheels, is350 wheels, or ls430 wheels.

The LS400 rotors are 12.4"

I don't know if the 16s will clear supra TT. I wouldn't count on it though, considering there isn't much room left with the LS400 setup.

hmm.. Very interesting. i was almost positive LS swaps would not fit OEM 16s. maybe is because the rotor size? i think TTs are 13 right?

16s will fit...just need 15mm spacer...and SAGE front RCA. If you have EXACT front RCA...then you need 17s.
