No they don't try a little harder to line them top mount in the hole and make sure you take out the correct bolt on the lowwer arm and you be set. Took me and a friend a 1hr 1/2 to take my coil out and put the stock back on with no problem.

So you didn't compress the oem spring at all to put the tophat back on? Never seen that before on any car
Nope. Spring compressors are only needed when you take apart the assembly (specifically the spring). In your case you're simply swapping the the spring and shock assembly as a whole as opposed to the spring. You're looking at literally a few bolts just to swap it. Good luck! And always make sure all your bolts are on tight!
