2010 is250 awd
hey everyone,
my gf purchased her car exactly a year ago and i finally convinced her to lower her car.
Im talking her into getting coilovers. I was hoping you guys could recommend a few good choices to go with. A set of coils that comes with preloaded springs setting and height adjustment is independent. Oh yeah are there any difference between 350 and 250 coilovers or AWD and RWD suspension? are they interchangeable? thanks everyone

I'm not too sure about lowering on the AWD systems
50/50(?) of the people had issues after lowering
creates some vibrations while idling and speed below 20ish
i think that happens randomly and no way to solve it(for now i guess)
except to change it back to stock
but i mean you can try, alot of people use BC coils
and yes, there are differences between RWD and AWD suspensions
the different is in the front, they have different structures because of the AWD drivetrain (AFAIK)

Man that's weird, so no one knows what that vibration is. I see that u have awd too are u lowered? So where can I look for coils that is for awd (bc coils)

at the vendor section on the forum there are vendors that provides bc coils, you can pm them 
and yeah i have awd, but im not lowered because of that...
pretty much scared if at that moment when i start the car i feel vibrations and i'll have to go back to stock suspensions or just live with it LOL
but ill probably still lower it someday in the future, or else it looks like a 4x4 haha

). The reasons why I haven't yet is b/c of all the talk of an uneven drop w/ springs. H&R's sound awesome in looks, but am afraid the plush ride of the car will be lost? Can anyone confirm this? Coilovers seem like an attractive alternative to springs alone, but the price is still steep for me.. unless anyone wants to see me theirs?

lowered my AWD on tein stechs, no vibrations at all and ride feels like stock with better handling, pretty good on rough roads, the only problem with springs on AWD is the c-clamp in the front makes for an uneven drop since the front is higher, not too noticeable tho, i recommend tein stechs if you choose to go with springs, if not bcr is a good choice also

sweet guys, thanks for all the input. I will let my gf know about the BC coils. At first she just wan't a lil drop so i told her to get s-tech. So Phresh2010 just confirmed that they will work fine. Have you guys installed the coilovers yourself? Pretty easy, meaning like all the bolts are easy to reach, just unbolt and rebolt the coil? i have installed a few coilovers myself.

Simple in and out swap buy you'll need a buddy to help you. It a complete kit so you don't have to reuse anythang from the stock. I had my AWD 25.5 from the ground to the inner fender with no rub or vibration. But beforeyou put your trunk back together make sure you test drive it to play with the dampner
