check my.is forums, the 1IS community is larger there. TRD is only expensive because of its name.

Look at this thread: http://my.is/forums/f88/newbie-go-fa...d-here-340884/

I've read that JDM front STB's, such as TRD and Cusco, will have clearance issues. Look up JIC's front strut bar. If you want mods that you will really notice, do some research on coilovers/lowering springs+shocks and sway bars.
JIC is the only strut bar that'll fit the IS. only issue is you have to remove you plastic engine cover.

TRD strut bar will not fit the IS GE motor because of the way the intake mani goes over the top.

rvalero does make a good point about the CA thing. If you don't mind taking everything off for inspection then get headers/ypipe. Otherwise, I would recommend sway bars and lowering your car before anything else. PLP bar fits over the engine cover but is hard to get. As for JDM parts....besides ltuned, PM nigel on here. You might want to keep a look out on my.is classifieds because you will see quality JDM goods for sale.

Only problem with my.is.... you have to have 300+ posts or be there for at least 3 months before you can view the classifieds.

It's worth the wait though because there are definitely good buys.

I was wondering where the classifieds section was

I agree with just getting the suspension dialed in before power adders, nothing would frustrate me more than getting pulled over, ticketed, replacing exhaust with stock unit...rinse repeat.

Actually, 50 non-spamtastic posts + 90 days membership + positive rep = Marketplace access.

I saw the exhaust, and it is BNIB. It still has all the original packaging, and doesn't appear to have ever been pulled out of the box. If I didn't recently pick up an L-Tuned exhaust, I would be all over this one.

I don't know about TRD, but HKS made the L-Tuned muffler.

HKS also has a limited edition ti exhaust that is supposed to be very similar in sound to the l-tuned exhaust.

The L-Tuned is a rebadged HKS limited Ti without the Ti tip.

HKS Ti-Limited

My L-Tuned

Both are discontinued, but occasionally pop up in the for sale forums.
