to be dead honest, i have never read if dot3 is synthetic or not. usually i just read it as dot3 and dot3 heavy duty (able to handle to a slightly higher temp).

ive been told by and sold that dot3 and dot4 can be mixed, but naturally, you should stick with whatever dot fluid it came with. lexus uses dot3 i believe.

dot5 cannot be mixed as it is synthetic.

the pic below show a new cap (left) Vs a 1 week old cap (right), after the filling of DOT 4 into the reservoir. if this is what it will do to your cap imagine your other seals.

I am going to have the dealership do the brake lines and fluid flush. The rotors I will do myself with my buddy the tech. I appreciate everyone's advice
