Default 2011 IS 350 AWD with F Sport springs/teasers :)

Hey guys, I got the F sport springs installed tonight and thought I would post some teasers up for you all to see. I'll take some real photos soon and post those.

Before dropping my car off I made sure to really pay attention to how the car feels and handles.

Initial impressions: Well, on the way home I drove it for 15 minutes on the freeway and then a few minutes on snow covered roads. I'll have to say that the ride exceeded my expectations. After reading some not so good reviews on this forum, I actually really enjoy these springs and would recommend them to any of the new 350 AWD owners. I was expecting the worse with these but once again, it feels stock, but just a bit stiffer and quicker on the rebound.

Road noise was non existent, no rattles, no noises, no clunking/ if some of you are wondering, I purchased the updated springs from the dealer which were redesigned to eliminate coil slap. The newer springs part number ends with a "90"

You can tell that the ride is a bit stiffer, body roll is eliminated and aesthetically it looks really good. Almost like it should have come from the factory at this height. It sits just a bit lower than my old E92 coupe with factory sport suspension. One little thing I noticed was that during idling at a light, I could feel that the vibration through the steering wheel...felt a bit stronger. It might just be me or all in my head but this is the only thing I noticed.

Let me know what you guys think or if you have any questions

UPDATE: Here are 2 quick shots before the Christmas cheer starts! If anyone wants different angles or more info, I can take some more pictures and post them....after the holidays !

Have you considered if the revised steering wheel damper would solve your vibration issue? Several ppl on these boards seem to love it! Still need to get mine added.

Love the pics btw, GORGEOUS!

are the wheel gaps even or is the rear still lower than the front? from the pic your car on fsport springs look lower than my AWD 250 on tein stechs which have lower specs, anyways looks sexy

Yeah, its definitely something I am going to have to add. I was commenting on a different post how I missed the heavier steering feel of my previous BMW and the same advice came up. I'm just a bit weary on taking apart my steering wheel and disabling the airbag though

I am really happy with the drop! It's a perfect amount to keep it comfortable enough as my daily driver. As well, I have to drive through snow 5 months out of the year so any lower and I'd be helping the city plow the streets As for the drop front to back, it is still a bit higher in the front vs the rear. I haven't noticed the "ghetto lean" that some members have talked about, but I also haven't driven the car in a few days because of the holidays. I'll take closeup shots of front and rear wheel gaps and post them for you guys to see.

The IS350 AWD already has the steering damper. Don't bother opening up your steering wheel, it's already in there!

Jeff where did you get this info about the 2011's already having the steering damper....because if that's the case, you have saved me a lot of time and effort! But the bad thing is...I might need a heavier one

looking good any future plans?
Yea, first on the list I'm going to order either the Joe Z or F sport intake after the holidays. Then once the snow melts I will add some wheels. I had LC Dynas in hyper black on my previous car and really liked them. I just noticed on wheeldude's website that the LC 818's come in gunmetal now, so I'll more than likely order those once spring comes. At the same time I get the wheels I want to get the Tanabe exhaust. That's all I will do in the near future.

As for aesthetics, I like the F sport front lip add ons, but think I'll wait until a few more options are released...That brings up a question I've been meaning to ask. It doesn't seem like the new 2011 body panels or rear bumper has changed much, but can anyone confirm if the sideskirts and rear bumper lips for the older generations fit the new 2011's?

Really loving those headlights! Might eventually do a headlight conversion on my 06. Haha =)

Nice to have a 350 AWD and still modding it despite of the snowfall in your area.

Hey Trza, I think you commented on my earlier post about tire width for 19"... I also traded in a Bimmer for the lexus and must say I miss the tighter feel of the steering but not the constant breakdowns.

The pics you posted with the OEM 17s(?) look great.. gives me encouragement to finalize my decision to get the F-sport springs installed and then the 19" wheels! Thinking of getting WedsSports though instead of the LCs... (can't beat 18 lbs!) Let me know if you have put the LCs on... cheers from Ottawa! Spring is comming soon
